Who can get child benefits from Germany?
Everyone who has residence permit in Germany is allowed to get child benefits. Exception applies for all citizens of European Union, Switzerland, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Algeria, Kosovo, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. For these countries is not residence permit needed.
How long does it take to get child benefits?
It takes from six to nine months on average.
How much money can I get?
You can get 184 EUR monthly for your first and second child, 190 EUR for third child, and 215 EUR for every next one.
What is the maximum age of child?
Maximum age is 18. (25 years in case the child is a student.)
How many years back can I apply for child benefits?
You can apply four years back.
