Austria Tax Refund

Income tax Refund from Austria
Taxation is progressive on the individual's income in Austria, in other words, the more you earn, the more you pay. Austrian tax rates for individuals were between 25% and 55% in 2018:

Yearly income Tax
0 - 11,000 €0 %
11,000 - 18,000 € 25 %
18,000 - 31,000 € 35 %
31,000 - 60,000 € 42 %
60,000 - 90,000 € 48 %
90,000 - 1,000,000 € 50 %
1,000,001 € or more 55 %

Under the Austrian Income Tax Act each individual is taxable on his/her own income and there is no joint taxation of married couples or households. Tax returns are due by the end of April of the following year and the average refund is 1649 Euro!
