Austria Tax Refund

Income tax Refund from Austria
If you have worked in Austria during the last 5 years, Dendax can help you get back the paid income tax. These taxes are charged at progressive rates (the more you earn, the more you pay). Your employer deducts taxes from your salary and remits it to the tax authorities on your behalf.

Yearly taxable income Tax due
0 - 11,000 €0 %
11,000 - 18,000 € 25 %
18,000 - 31,000 € 35 %
31,000 - 60,000 € 42 %
60,000 - 90,000 € 48 %
90,000 - 1,000,000 € 50 %
1,000,001 € or more 55 %

Under the Austrian Income Tax Act each individual is taxable on his/her own income and there is no joint taxation of married couples or households. Tax returns are due by the end of April of the following year and the average refund is 1649 Euro!

  • You earn over a minimum amount from sources other than your employment
  • You worked for more than one employer during one year
  • Several other scenarios

What is a Lohnzettel form?

You should contact your Austrian employer, as employers are legally obliged to issue you a replacement. Alternatively Dendax can get the required document for you.

You can go as far back as 5 years from the year in which you apply.
